Inconel 601 is a standard engineering material that has great resistance to heat and corrosion. Inconel 601® also has high strength and good workability with excellent metallurgical stability and high resistance to carburization. Inconel 601 is hardened and strengthened through a cold work process. The outstanding characteristic of Inconel 601 Seamless Tubes is its resistance to high–temperature oxidation. These Inconel 601 Welded Tubes stand out due to its resistance to high-temperature oxidation, remaining highly resistant to oxidation through 2200 Degree F.  Alloy 601 develops a tightly adherent oxide scale that resists spalling even under conditions of severe thermal cycling. This nickel alloy has good high-temperature strength and retains its ductility after long service exposure. It has good resistance to aqueous corrosion, high mechanical strength, and is readily formed, machined, and welded. Inconel 601’s properties make it a material of broad utility in fields like thermal processing, chemical processing, pollution control, aerospace, and power generation. However, alloy 601 is not suggested for use in strongly reducing, sulfur-bearing environments. Inconel® 601 sheet is available in thicknesses ranging from .010 to .120″. Inconel® 601 strip in coil form is available in lighter gauges up 24″ wide. Inconel® 601 plate is available up 2″ thick. Inconel® 601 seamless pipe is available up to 4″ NB. Larger sizes are available in welded construction (100% X-ray) and can also be fabricated to order. Inconel® 601 tubing is not commonly available but can be produced to order. Redrawn tubes and tubing with tight tolerances can be supplied in almost any size no matter how small the size or quantity. Inconel 601 is qualified for use in pressure vessels in ASME Section VIII (Code case 1500) to 480°C. It is not pre-qualified in AS1210. Inconel 601 as a ‘C’ class alloy is fairly difficult to machine. Heavy machines, sharp tools, slow speeds and deep cuts to remove the work-hardened layer are needed. Inconel 601 is readily weldable by the SMAW (manual), GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG) and SAW processes. Preheat or post-weld heat treatment are not needed. Care must be taken to avoid contamination of the weld pool. Argon is used as the shielding gas. Inconel 601 Cold Rolled Coiled Tubes is actually a general-purpose nickel-chromium – iron engineering material for applications where resistance to heat and corrosion is required. These Inconel 601 Bright Annealed Tubes are also useful for chemical process equipment such as combustor components, condenser tubes and process heaters.

Before supplying these Inconel 601 Tubes to our clients, they are tested in terms of quality by our quality controllers such as hardness, micro and, macro tests. Because of the wide scope of widths and thicknesses and the assortment of tempers delivered in our Inconel 601 Tube and cut lengths, no levelness resiliences have been set up for cold moved hardened steel. Evenness on temper abounded in these Inconel 601 Tubes can’t be ensured. This Inconel 601 Tube Cap is a universally useful grade often supplied in the solidified, yet machinable condition, for applications where high strength and moderate warmth and erosion obstruction are required.
