Duplex Stainless Steel is made up of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen, which gives it excellent resistance to pitting, high strength, stress corrosion, crevice corrosion, and cracking. S31803’s high chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen contents provide corrosion resistance that is superior to that of common stainless steels.

These Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Tubes have a high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion, good general corrosion resistance, good sulphide stress corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability and workability, and so on. Duplex Steel UNS S31803 Seamless Pipes can be hot worked at temperatures ranging from 954 to 1149 degrees Celsius (1750-2100 degree F). Today, grade 2205 is one of the most commonly used duplex stainless steel (austenitic/ferritic) grades. Because of its corrosion resistance and high tensile strength, it is now used in a wide range of applications. Many steel suppliers have greatly refined the standard duplex S31803 composition, resulting in a restriction of the composition ranges that were authorised as UNS S32205. The corrosion resistance of grade S32205 is well-established. Recently produced duplex S31803 complies with S32205. However, grade 2205 is not suitable for use at temperatures above 300 degrees Celsius. The reason for this is that the brittle micro constituents precipitate. Because of a few good properties found in the product, it has become the right choice for tough applications in many large industries. The pipes and tubes can withstand high levels of corrosion.
